April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month! 
Throughout the month of April, we will be hosting school-wide virtual events and discussions to continue the conversation and connect with one another to raise awareness about sexual assault. 
 
Answer this 10-question quiz correctly and your name will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a Postmates gift card! Open to students, faculty, and staff.
 
SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH DIGITAL SCAVENGER HUNT
April 10 - April 12
Follow clues and search for the answer online. You will have three days to scavenge the web using clues that will be sent out the morning of April 10. The individual with the most correct answers will receive a $100 Amazon Gift Card!
 
CRAFT A CARD FOR SURVIVORS (ALL MONTH LONG)
Make a digital card (using Canva, Photoshop, or any digital program), or make a hand-made card and scan it. Email your completed card to SBtitle9@nyfa.edu and it will be posted on NYFA’s Title IX page for survivors to access at any time!

HOW TO SUPPORT A SURVIVOR - ROUNDTABLE (STUDENTS ONLY)

1 in 5 women* and 1 in 67 men* have experienced completed or attempted rape in their lifetimes. Join Counseling for a conversation on how to support those survivors, who are our friends, family, and classmates.

Men’s-only discussion group exploring sex, boundaries and safety, consent, legal definitions of rape, being a bystander, and the complex ways in which men navigate relationships and intimacy.
 
 
HOW TO PRACTICE SAFE SEXTING (ALL MONTH LONG)
Sexting, like anything that's fun, runs its risks - but a serious violation of privacy shouldn't be one of them. Watch this 15-minute TedTalk and learn what Amy Adele Hasinoff identifies as problematic responses to sexting in education and the practical solutions for how individuals can protect sensitive files.
 
 
SEXUAL VIOLENCE PREVENTION VIRTUAL RESOURCE FAIR (ALL MONTH LONG)
Throughout the month of April, visit the NYFA Hub to access information and resources around sexual violence prevention. Learn how you can help prevent sexual violence, identify signs of unhealthy relationships, and find support on and off campus.
 
 
Check your email and/or log into the Hub Events tab to learn about new and upcoming virtual events! All virtual events will continue, even after we resume in-class instruction, to continue to engage NYFA community members school wide. We look forward to connecting with you throughout the month to continue the discussion.
