Graduation- LA

Dear NYFA LA Community,

We’d like to congratulate the accomplishments of our soon-to-be graduates leading to their much anticipated Summer graduation!  We are incredibly proud of their hard work that has gotten them to this point. Yet, we understand this semester has gone much differently than imagined, as this is certainly not the way we imagined preparing to celebrate our graduates. As we’ve all been experiencing, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused us to make a number of adjustments. For the health and safety of our NYFA community, we adjusted the Spring graduation to be a meaningful, live virtual ceremony where we had hundreds of attendees watch from all over the world! Since we cannot assure it will be physically safe for all of us to be together for an in-person graduation ceremony, we’ve made the following adjustments to the Summer 2020 graduation ceremony:

  • Summer Graduation will occur on September 12, 2020 in a live virtual ceremony.
  • Graduates can also request to stay updated about when an in-person ceremony may be rescheduled.

We are sad to adjust the Summer 2020 graduation ceremony yet hope to create different opportunities to celebrate our graduates. We want to honor this important milestone the best we can given these unpredictable and difficult circumstances. We are excited to provide a meaningful moment for our graduates and their loved ones as we improve upon the memorable virtual ceremony we organized last semester.

All degree graduates should complete the Summer 2020 Graduation: Diploma & Ceremony RSVP form by July 20th, 2020. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact graduationevents@nyfa.edu.

Stay safe and be well,

Dr. Susan Ashe, Dean of Students
& the NYFA Graduation Committee
