LIBRARY UPDATES - LA

Dear NYFA Los Angeles, 

I hope this message sees you all well during this time. As the school has transitioned to remote learning for the time being this is also the case for Library Services. I would like to share some updates with you regarding the Library at this time. Please see updates below:
  • Both the Riverside Main Branch and the Barham Annex are currently closed. This means that new checkouts of material cannot occur.
  • If you checked out materials before the closure of the physical library please keep sending your renewal requests to the Library email. We are doing extended renewals of materials right now and would prefer all patrons put through these requests as opposed to returning items.
  • Note that the Library has been hard at work providing expanded online resources. From this work there are two new pages we’ve created at the Library website. First, there’s the COVID-19 Free Resources page where we have consolidated direct links of temporary free access to a host of databases and resources from various publishers and companies. In some cases you will need login credentials and should that be the case, please email the library and we will be happy to provide that information to you. Also, we’ve created the LibGuides page which are research tools specific to different collections or topics. Some of our initial LibGuides pertain to general research while a few are little more specific to this current time of remote learning and living. We hope these help! 
  • Direct access to the school’s LinkedIn Learning and IMDb Pro accounts are currently suspended. However, if you need directory assistance usually proved via IMDb Pro, please email the Library and we can work with you to get that information.
