NYFA NY COVID-19 Health Report
October 29, 2020 3:00pm
Dear NYFA NY Community,
We hope you are well and happily engaged in your programs.
As part of keeping our community informed of the incidence of COVID-19 at the NY Campus, we send you this notification.
A third member of the NYFA community has tested positive for COVID-19. This individual has not been present on campus at any time during the infectious period. Also, this individual has not been in contact with any member of the NYFA community at any time during the infectious period. The individual who tested positive will be isolating until a safe return to in-person activities is possible. We wish for this individual a complete and rapid recovery.
On a positive note, we are delighted to report that the five individuals who had had probable contact with the NYFA community member who tested positive for COVID -19 earlier this month have all tested negative and their quarantine periods have ended.
For ongoing updates of the incidence of illness on the NY NYFA Campus, please consult the NY Campus Dashboard.
Although the incidence rates of new cases of COVID-19 remain relatively low in New York City and New York State, please remain vigilant by: following personal hygiene guidelines; practicing physical distancing; wearing masks when venturing outside your homes; and staying home when you are sick. In abiding by these practices, you will limit your exposure to the virus and you will be doing all you can to stay healthy and protect the safety of our community.
For more tips on staying healthy and for guidance on how to access care should you become ill, please visit the NYFA Student Hub.
Also, please report positive COVID-19 test results to:
Faculty and Staff: Domingo Morales, Associate Director of Human Resources, Domingo.morales@nyfa.edu
Students: Sandra Schein, Director of Student Health and Wellness, Sandra.schein@nyfa.edu
We thank you and applaud you for your cooperation!
