UPDATE: LA COVID-19 HEALTH REPORT

Dear NYFA LA Community,
Update to October 20, 2020 Communication
We are delighted to inform you that the LA COVID-19 Health Report, distributed to the NYFA LA community on October 20, 2020 of a positive COVID-19 case within the NYFA LA community, is rescinded. The report of a positive COVID-19 case within our community was based on a false positive RT-PCR test result, a result that is exceptionally rare and explainable only through sample contamination.
In accordance with our medical consultant and the LA County Department of Health, the person who tested positive and all individuals with whom he/she/they were in contact have been safely released from self isolation and self quarantine. We greatly appreciate the cooperation of those individuals involved in this case.
Newly Confirmed Case
One additional member of the NYFA community has tested positive for COVID-19. This newly confirmed case is unrelated to the individual from prior communication on October 20. This newly confirmed case has not been present on campus, nor has this person had any contact with any member of the NYFA community during the infectious period. The individual who tested positive will be isolating until a safe return to in-person activities is possible.
