Vaccine Eligibility
April 1, 2021
Dear NYFA Community,
Beginning today, April 1, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health will open COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to individuals ages 50 and older. As of April 15th, every Californian age 16 and older will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
The COVID-19 vaccine is free to all eligible persons residing in LA County, including international students. Immigration status and insurance are not required. Medical information is protected by law.
You must bring a photo ID to your vaccine appointment. Your California driver’s license or other proof of California residency may be required. Please bring any necessary documentation that is listed while making your appointment.
We encourage you to get vaccinated to protect your health as well as the health of our community. Due to the limited number of vaccines, booking an appointment may take some time. New appointment availability is expected to open on a weekly basis.

The vaccine has shown a high level of protection against severe COVID illness and we strongly encourage all eligible members of our community to get vaccinated at the first opportunity. Information about getting vaccinated is linked on NYFA’s COVID-19 Health and Campus Guidelines and Information. After vaccination, masking, social distancing, testing, and other COVID safety protocols will still be required, as detailed in NYFA’s COVID Safety Plan and NYFA’s Testing Protocol & Requirements.
Stay safe and be well,
