Dear Student,

You are receiving this email because you are not currently eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster dose of vaccination. You will be permitted to attend in-person classes and activities with your current COVID-19 vaccinations, as long as your other COVID-19 requirements have been met. Please note, these other requirements include receiving a negative RT-PCR test result from a test taken within 7 days of your first day on campus, and finishing the COVID-19 Safety Training found on the NYFA Student HUB.

Your booster eligibility depends on the vaccinations that you received.
  • Pfizer: 5 months after your second dose of vaccination
  • Moderna: 5 months after your second dose of vaccination
  • Johnson and Johnson: 2 months after your vaccination
  • W.H.O. approved vaccine*: 6 months after your last dose of vaccination
* If you received a W.H.O. approved vaccine that has not been approved by the F.D.A. (such as Covaxin, AstraZeneca. Sinopharm, Sinovac, etc.) you are eligible to receive a dose of the Pfizer vaccine 6 months after your last dose of vaccination. Please make an appointment to receive a booster dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Bring your current COVID-19 vaccination card/document to your appointment so that your card/document can be either updated or so that your need for a booster vaccination can be verified.

Please mark your eligibility date in your calendar and schedule an appointment for within 5 days of your first day eligible. You can schedule a booster dose using the following link:Also, please know that, should you need to miss class to get your booster dose of vaccine, you can be excused from class by notifying your instructor of your needed absence and by submitting your proof of your booster dose of vaccination to your COVID-19 Team Administrator (covidteamny@nyfa.edu).

Let us know if you have any questions and we hope you enjoy your first week of classes!

Regards,
NYFA NY COVID-19 Response Team
